She completed her master's in restorative dentistry in Manchester and now leads the clinic's implant and full-mouth rehabilitation work, taking referrals from colleagues across the Western Province. She also runs the practice's clinical governance and mentoring programme.
Outside the surgery, Amara teaches on the postgraduate restorative programme and volunteers with a school screening initiative in the Kalutara district.

Treatments

A titanium root placed in the jawbone and restored with a custom crown — the closest thing dentistry has to replacing a tooth completely.
Custom-made ceramic restorations that rebuild a heavily damaged tooth, or replace a missing one using the teeth on either side.
Composite fillings bonded directly to the tooth, shaded to match the surrounding enamel and shaped to your natural bite.
Treatment that removes infection from inside the tooth and saves it, performed under local anaesthetic with rotary instruments and magnification.
Dentist-supervised whitening using custom-made trays, with a shade record taken before and after so the change is measured rather than guessed.

Erosive wear rebuilt additively with composite. No tooth structure removed.
