What we mean by consent, what you are agreeing to, and your right to change your mind.
Last updated 1 July 2026
Before any treatment we explain what is proposed, why, what the alternatives are including doing nothing, the risks and likely outcome, and the cost. Consent is only meaningful once you have that information and have had the chance to ask questions.
For anything beyond routine treatment, consent is recorded in writing and a copy is available to you on request. You may withdraw consent at any point, including partway through a course of treatment.
A parent or legal guardian must consent to treatment for a patient under 18 and must attend the appointment. Where a child is brought by another adult, we require written authority from the parent or guardian in advance.
We contact you about your appointments by the method you choose when booking. This is part of providing your care and is not marketing.
Newsletters and practice news are sent only if you separately opt in, and every message includes an unsubscribe link. Your care is unaffected either way.
We do not include clinical detail in SMS or WhatsApp messages, because those channels are not fully secure.
