Oral surgery
Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, carried out under local anaesthetic with a clear plan for replacing it afterwards.
We remove a tooth only when it genuinely cannot be saved, or when keeping it would cause more harm than losing it. Before that point we will always set out the alternatives with costs.
Extractions are done under local anaesthetic. You will feel firm pressure but not pain. Sedation is available at the Colombo practice for anxious patients.
Before you leave, we discuss what happens to the gap. Doing nothing is a legitimate choice for some back teeth, but it should be a decision rather than a default.
